What’s New on the Square in Glasgow
Main Street Bed & Breakfast is just a short walk from the downtown square in Glasgow. On the square you’ll find local businesses, unique shops and great eats. We’ve been fortunate to have some new arrivals on the square, so we want to highlight these new places you will want to check out when you visit Glasgow!
The Hive Coffee & Bakehouse
The Hive is a collaboration between Honey's Coffee Co and Wild Flours Bake Shop. Focused on sustainability, local ingredients and recipes passed down from generations, the Hive offers a selection of craft coffee, teas and other specialty drinks along with artisan baked goods.
Whether you need a caffeine pick-me-up, a sweet treat or a hearty lunch, you are sure to find it here! You can go upstairs to sip your coffee while looking over the square or settle in a quiet corner. The Hive is a wonderful addition to our neighborhood offering a truly unique space to embrace the history of the town.
Another great addition to the square is Nadine West Book Company. Located right beside The Hive coffee shop, the independent bookstore offers reading material for all ages of various genres. The store is bright white with shelves of books for you to browse. Find the latest from your favorite author, get recommendations from the staff or just peruse at your leisure and see what you’ll find.
If you are looking for a sweet treat, look no further than Absolutely Sweet! They bake cookies, cakes, brownies and more. You can also have them make a custom cake for a special occasion. You are sure to find something to satisfy your sweet tooth at this local shop.
If you are looking for a cold sweet treat, you need to visit Glasgow City Creamery. They specialize in frozen delights with 16 rotating ice cream flavors. You can enjoy your flavor of choice in a bowl or on a crispy waffle cone. They also have milkshakes, sundaes and, of course, a banana split! Add your favorite toppings and create your own custom ice cream creation. In addition to ice cream, they also have specialty coffees.
